The place is completely dark and eerily empty, with no monsters or obvious threats anywhere in sight. Senon soon recognizes the building's architectural style as resembling an ancient Hephaestus Temple. His knowledge of ancient legends helps the group understand that the strange structure may be connected to an old civilization. They discover a door without any obvious trap, but beyond it lies an enormous room with no clear route to the next floor.
At the center of the room is a beautiful water basin surrounded by white tree-like structures and marble. The area initially appears decorative, but Rin notices writing carved into the basin. The walls also contain reliefs of numerous animals, including creatures that no longer exist. Most importantly, the central marble tree has grooves running through its twin trunks, suggesting that something is meant to be placed inside them.

They discover that the Storm Eel has an extremely strong sense of smell, giving Rin an idea. Instead of relying entirely on magic, Rin uses food as bait. She prepares a piece of salt-pickled Suruika squid and throws it into the water. The Storm Eel immediately follows the scent and exposes itself.
The group launches its attack. Ed uses his magic to restrain the monster while the others move in. The group then discovers what appears to be the route to the next floor. However, Miso notices something strange about the dungeon. The dimensions of the structure do not seem to match its exterior. The interior is far larger than it should be, and there are no obvious monsters nearby.
Goma soon notices an unusual orb-like structure. The group realizes that it is the dungeon core, the object responsible for maintaining the dungeon's existence. This discovery leads to the episode's biggest revelation. Gomamiso remembers its true identity. The creature that has been traveling alongside Rin is actually the dungeon boss and had originally been responsible for protecting the dungeon core.
The group initially expects this revelation to turn Gomamiso into another enemy. Instead, Gomamiso explains that it no longer wants to remain in the dungeon. After becoming attached to Rin, it wants to leave its old role behind and continue traveling with her. The situation becomes even more unexpected when Gomamiso destroys the dungeon core itself. Outside the dungeon, Rin and the others realize that Gomamiso has effectively become a new member of their traveling party. The mysterious creature is no longer simply an unusual companion they found along the road. It is a former dungeon boss that willingly chose to follow Rin.

The conversation eventually turns toward Rin's identity as a Saintess. The group discusses ancient records about a woman summoned from another world who possessed divine power and helped deal with a major threat. Rin then notices something troubling about the accepted explanation for her own summoning. The monster disturbances did not appear before she arrived in this world. Instead, the strange events began afterward.
