Through a connection involving Sylvaril, Rudeus can summon help from Almanfi when necessary. It is not exactly the combat training Rudeus wanted, but it gives him an important emergency resource and shows that Perugius now regards him with considerably more respect.
The conversation then shifts toward Zanoba's figurines, creating one of the episode's more unexpected developments. Zanoba wants to sell the figures and asks Perugius for his opinion. The request seems risky because Perugius openly dislikes demons, and one of the figures represents Ruijerd Sperdia, a member of the demon race.
