Mary-san is presented as an evil spirit that uses phone calls to manipulate people into exactly the position she wants before dragging them into the afterlife. Her usual method depends on controlling the victim's movements and appearing at the right moment. Unfortunately for her, Kamui has his own unusual approach to dealing with spirits. He confronts Mary-san directly and declares that her reign of terror is over.
The exorcism succeeds, but the aftermath once again highlights the strange reality of Kamui's work. At a company whose employees had been disappearing, the grateful client assumes that the charismatic psychic has simply performed an impressive supernatural cleansing. Nobody there understands what Kamui actually does to exorcise the spirits he encounters. His assistant certainly has no intention of explaining the details.
When the client asks whether the disappearances will finally stop, Kamui's assistant quickly covers for his boss, claiming that the psychic is merely exhausted after the exorcism. The excuse is enough to end the conversation, and Kamui prepares to leave with his assistant. His assistant is frustrated that Kamui always seems to arrive at the last possible moment. Kamui explains that there is a practical reason for his timing: perceptive targets are more likely to escape if he makes his move too early.
Waiting until the final moment allows him to deal with them before they can get away. After the job, Kamui decides to treat his assistant to something sweet. The seemingly harmless break soon takes a darker turn when he asks whether she knows about Teketeke, one of Japan's notorious supernatural urban legends.
Kamui explains the tragic story behind the spirit. According to the version he tells, a schoolgirl was struck by a train during winter, leaving her body horribly injured. The cold conditions prevented her from immediately dying, while her lower half was separated from the rest of her body and never recovered. The legend says that the resulting spirit became obsessed with the missing part of herself.
His assistant quickly realizes that this is not simply a scary story being shared over dessert. Kamui reveals that anyone who hears the story can become the next target. Within three days, Teketeke will appear. Sure enough, the threat arrives. The story then shifts to Shizuka Mimizuka, whose unusual childhood has made her life a constant struggle. Shizuka has spent years keeping her eyes fixed on the ground because looking up could mean making eye contact with the supernatural beings surrounding her. Shrines, temples, and even churches were unable to solve her problem, leaving her isolated and frightened.
Everything changes when she meets Kamui. Shizuka remembers being terrified of him at first. In fact, Kamui seemed even more frightening to her than the ghosts and demons she had spent her life avoiding. However, he quickly recognized that her strange ability to attract supernatural entities could be useful. Her speed and ability to draw spirits toward her made her an effective lure, so Kamui recruited her as bait.
That arrangement becomes important when Teketeke appears. The spirit is capable of moving at terrifying speed despite being unable to use the lower half of her body. Shizuka's role is to attract Teketeke's attention and keep moving while Kamui waits for the right opportunity to intervene. The strategy works, but Teketeke's incredible speed makes the encounter extremely dangerous.
Shizuka manages to draw the spirit into position, allowing Kamui to pin her down. At first, Shizuka believes Kamui's normal exorcism method cannot work because Teketeke lacks the body part necessary for it. For once, it seems the spirit's unusual condition has created a problem even Kamui cannot solve. Kamui, however, has already anticipated the issue.
Instead of relying on the obvious method, he exploits another aspect of Teketeke's supernatural existence. His bizarre technique targets the connection between physical sensation and the spirit's perception of its missing body. The result is a strange supernatural phenomenon that convinces Teketeke she has finally recovered the part of herself she has been desperately searching for. The effect completely changes the battle.
Teketeke experiences the sensation of having her missing lower half restored, even though the body itself is still absent. Kamui identifies this as a form of phantom sensation, using the spirit's own obsession against her. Because Teketeke's legend is built around searching for her lost body, making her believe that she has found it becomes the key to ending the encounter. The strategy works. Teketeke's fixation finally comes to an end, allowing Kamui to exorcise the spirit.
Afterward, Shizuka reflects on how strange her life has become. Her job with Kamui is certainly unpleasant, and her boss is hardly someone she would have chosen to work with under normal circumstances. Yet there is one unexpected benefit. Since joining him, she no longer spends every moment walking with her head down in fear. The episode then introduces another urban legend.
Kamui brings up Kashima, a supernatural figure who, like Teketeke, is associated with missing parts of the body. In this case, the legend centers on missing hands and feet. Kashima is said to attack victims by using the missing portions of her own body as part of her terrifying curse. Shizuka immediately realizes what Kamui is doing.
Just like before, hearing the story is apparently enough to place her in danger. Kamui casually reveals that Kashima will now appear before Shizuka within three days. Shizuka is horrified. After everything she has already endured, she cannot believe Kamui has effectively given her another supernatural problem as a so-called reward for surviving the previous one. The joke becomes even worse when she realizes that her sacrifice for the latest job was barely worth the sweet treat Kamui bought her.
The episode ends with Kamui casually presenting the whole situation as a farewell gift while Shizuka angrily calls him out for being cruel. Instead of giving her a peaceful break after defeating Teketeke, he has already introduced her to another dangerous urban legend. With Teketeke defeated but Kashima now waiting in the wings, Shizuka's strange partnership with Kamui is far from over. The episode turns a familiar ghost story into another bizarre supernatural case while showing exactly why Shizuka has become such a valuable part of Kamui's work: her ability to attract spirits puts her directly in danger, but it also gives Kamui the opening he needs to defeat them.

The Mary-san opening immediately establishes the episode's tone before the story shifts into Shizuka's much more personal connection to the supernatural world. Her backstory gives the character additional context, particularly the fear that has shaped her habit of constantly looking at the ground. The Teketeke encounter also works as a creative variation on a familiar urban legend because Kamui wins by exploiting the spirit's obsession with her missing body rather than simply overpowering her. Most importantly, the episode keeps Shizuka and Kamui's strange working relationship at the center of the comedy.
