The episode 10 of The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for the Throne starts with Leonard Reks Adler arriving at the royal castle of Albatro, where Grand Duke Donato Di Albatro personally welcomes him. Donato thanks Leonard for risking his life to rescue Albatro citizens stranded at sea. Leonard refuses to treat the rescue as something extraordinary, explaining that if an Imperial ship had sunk, he believes Albatro would have done the same. Rather than accepting valuable compensation for himself, Leonard asks only for provisions and water for his ship.
Donato, however, already knows that Leonard threw gifts intended for Rondine overboard in order to save the stranded men. He promises to replace the gifts with items of equal value. Leonard accepts the gesture, but the real reason for his visit soon becomes clear. Donato has another crisis to discuss, one that could threaten not only Albatro but the surrounding region.
Within Albatro's territorial waters lies Leviatano, a massive sea dragon that has remained dormant for more than two centuries. Its sleep was not natural. Two hundred years earlier, Albatro's ancestors used an ancient magical item to seal the creature away. That seal has now begun to fail because the jewel attached to the sealing staff has broken.
The situation explains the chaos surrounding Albatro. Donato had secretly sent a team to investigate whether Leviatano had actually awakened. He admits that contacting the Adventurer's Guild immediately would have been the sensible choice, but doing so would have carried a massive financial and political cost. Albatro depends heavily on sea trade, and news that a legendary sea dragon had returned could destroy confidence in its waters and potentially bankrupt the duchy.
Leonard understands why Donato kept the matter quiet, but he immediately starts looking for a solution. Donato expects that he will eventually have to seek help from the Adventurer's Guild. Leonard proposes another option: Albatro should call a truce with its longtime enemy, the Grand Duchy of Rondine, and join forces against Leviatano.
The problem is that years of war have destroyed diplomatic relations between the two duchies. Donato has little reason to believe Rondine would listen to an offer from an old enemy. Leonard therefore volunteers to carry the proposal himself. As the Imperial Ambassador Extraordinary, he believes his involvement will force Rondine to take the offer seriously.
After the formal meeting, Leonard finally drops his stiff diplomatic act and admits how exhausting it is to behave so formally. His companions also discuss the possibility that Rondine could exploit Albatro's weakness and launch an attack. Leonard knows that Leo and Elna are already in Rondine and believes they can prevent matters from getting out of hand. More importantly, he realizes that Donato needs someone to push him toward action, even if the plan is risky.
Before Leonard leaves, Princess Eva visits him to personally thank him for saving her. She has already recovered and has heard how Leonard jumped into the water despite the danger posed by Leviatano. Leonard again refuses to accept all the praise, crediting his ship's crew instead.
Eva also reveals that her brother, Prince Julio, has awakened. Julio considers Leonard an ideal prince and wants to become like him. Leonard is visibly uncomfortable with the praise, especially because he knows the reputation surrounding him does not tell the whole story.
When Julio later meets Leonard, the young prince asks how he can become a prince like him. Leonard gives him an unusually honest answer. He admits that while some people see him as kind and brave, others see the same qualities as naivety, recklessness, or thoughtlessness. Leonard even questions whether his idealism is suitable for someone who may one day have to make harsh decisions as a ruler.
Still, Leonard gives Julio one piece of advice: when he believes something is right, he should not hesitate to act. Leonard explains that he himself acts immediately whenever he believes his choice is right, regardless of what the eventual outcome might be. Julio takes the words seriously and promises to remember them.
Leonard then sets sail for Rondine. The journey is dangerous because Leviatano is somewhere in the surrounding waters, but the sea route can get him to Rondine in only two days. Albatro also provides magical cannons for protection. Leonard believes that if they avoid provoking the dragon, they may be able to pass safely. From his perspective, Leviatano would have the most reason to fear being sealed again, so there is little reason for the creature to attack them unless threatened.
While Leonard begins his dangerous journey, the episode shifts back to the Imperial Capital Wirth, where Finne Von Kleinert and her group are attempting to secure another important ally for Leonard's faction. Their target is Demi-Humans Inc., represented by Yulia, a vampire who clearly has no interest in making negotiations easy. Finne and the others are forced to wait for hours before Yulia finally appears. Rather than apologizing, Yulia bluntly explains that all four major factions competing for the throne have approached her.
She deliberately tested each group by making them wait. The other messengers lost patience and left after two hours, but Finne remained. That persistence earns the Blau Mowe faction an opportunity to negotiate. Yulia explains that Demi-Humans Inc. needs help if it wants to expand successfully in the capital, but she refuses to sell the organization cheaply. Finne therefore has to present something valuable enough to justify Demi-Humans Inc. choosing Leonard's side.
The negotiations take an unexpected turn when Finne offers herself as part of the deal. She tells Yulia that she can use her as she sees fit if Demi-Humans Inc. provides something of equal value to Leonard's faction. Yulia warns her that such an arrangement could force Finne to do things inappropriate for a duke's daughter. Finne accepts the risk without hesitation.
Her motivation is simple: she wants to become useful to Arnold and Leonard. She is not being blackmailed or forced. She genuinely wants to help them win the succession struggle, even if that means sacrificing her own comfort or reputation. Yulia is impressed by Finne's resolve and asks whether Leonard is truly worth going so far for. Finne answers without hesitation that he is. She intends to make Leonard Emperor and will do whatever is necessary to help achieve that goal.
The balance of power shifts immediately. Yulia admits that Finne has effectively won the negotiation. She then asks what the faction actually wants from Demi-Humans Inc. Lynphia explains that they need money because building a powerful coalition requires enormous resources. They also want Yulia's organization to target merchants and merchant associations supporting the rival factions.
Yulia is perfectly comfortable with that request. Covert business operations are exactly the sort of work Demi-Humans Inc. excels at. In exchange, however, Yulia asks to use Finne's name and image. Finne is one of the most popular women in the capital, making her an extremely valuable figure for promoting the organization's business. Surprisingly, that is all Yulia wants.
Yulia had initially intended to pretend to support Finne while negotiating for better terms later, but Finne's determination changes her mind. She even considers making Finne her mistress, but Finne firmly refuses. Her reasoning is sharp: if she belongs to someone else, her personal value and independence would decline.
Yulia becomes curious about why Finne is willing to enter a dangerous political struggle while refusing such a personal arrangement. Finne finally reveals that, beyond her position as a duke's daughter, her motivation is personal. She wants to help the person she loves. Yulia points out that Finne is helping both Leonard and Arnold and asks which prince she actually loves. Finne refuses to answer, simply calling it a secret.
Before ending the meeting, Yulia gives Finne a final piece of advice. Having met countless people, she considers Finne unusual and tells her to value herself highly. Someone who does not value themselves, Yulia argues, cannot truly value other people. Finne accepts the advice, while Yulia leaves convinced that their new relationship could become very interesting.
Yulia also becomes curious about the man capable of inspiring such loyalty from Finne. She wants to see Leonard for herself and find out what kind of person could make someone like Finne look at him that way. Two days later, Leonard's journey reaches its most dangerous point. The ship is traveling through Rondine's sea territory when an unnatural sound rises from the ocean. The crew cannot immediately identify it. The noise is so terrifying that it sounds as if it is coming from the depths of hell, making them wonder whether the sea itself is crying.
Then the answer becomes clear. Leviatano has appeared. The sight of the revived sea dragon instantly changes the mood aboard the ship. There is no realistic chance of simply running away, so Leonard orders everyone to remain quiet and wait for the creature to pass.
The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for the Throne Episode 10 ends with Leonard and his companions facing the very monster that forced Albatro to seek an alliance with its longtime enemy. At the same time, Finne has secured a potentially valuable partnership in the capital, giving Leonard's faction another piece in the growing struggle for the Imperial throne.
