Hinata suffers a devastating defeat, Chloe suddenly disappears, and Granville’s true objective finally comes to light as an unstoppable new threat awakens.
The episode 19 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 starts with Rimuru questioning why Granville is trying to force him and Leon into a confrontation. While allowing his fight with Leon to continue through his automatic battle abilities, Rimuru focuses on uncovering Granville’s real objective. He suspects that Yuuki Kagurazaka may be involved after learning that Yuuki appears to have formed some kind of pact with Granville.
Elsewhere, Hinata Sakaguchi is locked in an intense battle against Granville. Her first attempts to gain an advantage quickly fail when her skill Usurper cannot steal his abilities. Granville reveals that he already understands how her power works and had prepared for it in advance. Hinata refuses to panic and uses Force Takeover, a more powerful ability capable of stealing a skill regardless of the opponent’s level.
The technique succeeds, but Hinata immediately realizes that something is wrong. Granville appears completely prepared for the theft, and the severe exhaustion hitting her is far beyond the normal backlash of using Force Takeover. He explains that his strategy is simple: he is deliberately pushing her past her limits. Against an evenly matched opponent, experience and endurance can decide the battle, and Granville has spent a lifetime developing his skills.
Hinata finally understands the difference between them. Even if she can steal an ability, she cannot steal the knowledge, instincts, and experience Granville has accumulated over decades. Realizing she cannot defeat him by relying on tricks alone, Hinata decides to confront him seriously and launches herself back into the fight.
At the same time, Louis clashes with Footman and Tear. Louis initially seems to be holding the upper hand, but the battle takes a surprising turn when he reveals the truth about his relationship with the deceased Roy Valentine. They were not ordinary twins at all. Roy and Louis were originally one being, the Bloody Lord, who was defeated by Luminus and later divided into two separate existences because of his uncontrollable nature.
With Roy gone, Louis has regained his original power. He uses this restored strength to overwhelm his enemies and demonstrate why he was once such a feared being. However, Footman and Tear eventually recognize that continuing the fight could get them killed and decide to retreat. Their escape makes one thing clear: they were only a distraction.
That realization hits Luminus almost immediately. While the intruders kept everyone occupied, another part of Granville’s plan was moving forward. Luminus has been fighting a creature that once was Maria, the woman Granville loved. Although she knows the creature is no longer truly Maria, Luminus can still sense traces of the person she once was.
The discovery makes Granville’s determination even more disturbing. He was willing to transform the woman he loved into a Servant and send her into battle simply to create an opening. Yet Luminus realizes that Maria was never meant to defeat her. The attack was another diversion designed to keep her away from Granville’s actual target.
The situation suddenly turns disastrous when the attackers succeed in escaping with something hidden inside the Holy Ark. Luminus immediately understands the danger. The stolen treasure is something that had to remain protected until the proper time, because allowing it to fall into the wrong hands could put the entire world at risk. The scale of Granville’s plan is now becoming impossible to ignore.
The story then returns to Hinata’s battle, where Granville reveals another terrifying level of power. He uses Melt Slash by manipulating spiritrons without even needing an incantation, shocking everyone who witnesses it. His skill and control prove that Hinata is facing an opponent whose abilities are far more dangerous than she initially believed.
Granville then turns his attention toward Hinata herself. He questions why she was never able to become a Hero, despite possessing extraordinary talent and effort. According to him, strength alone is not enough. A person must also be loved by the spirits to earn the right to become a Hero.
Hinata rejects his attempt to lecture her, but Granville continues, claiming that the darkness in her heart is what has held her back. He presses her about a painful part of her past and suggests that she has never truly accepted what happened. Hinata reacts with fury, refusing to let him continue.
Granville insists that she must accept her past and take pride in the person she has become. His words are harsh, but he frames them as guidance. Before he can push the lesson any further, however, the battle takes a far more horrifying turn. Predict Future Attack suddenly warns that Granville is targeting Chloe Aubert.
Hinata immediately moves to protect Chloe, and the others scramble to react, but Granville’s attack lands. The damage is catastrophic. Hinata is struck by an overwhelming rush of spiritrons, and Luminus quickly realizes that the situation is far worse than an ordinary injury. Hinata’s spiritual body has been destroyed, and the spiritrons are moving toward her astral body.
Everyone desperately tries to keep her alive. Venom helps protect the children while Luminus focuses on stopping the damage. Chloe is left horrified as she watches her teacher collapse. Even in her final moments, Hinata worries about Chloe rather than herself.
She tells Chloe that she could never do enough to feel worthy of being her teacher, but she still believes Chloe can surpass her. The emotional moment becomes even more painful when Chloe begins to cry out and something completely unexpected happens to her. Chloe suddenly disappears.
Nobody understands where she has gone or what triggered it. Even Raphael cannot immediately provide a complete explanation. With Hinata apparently dead and Chloe gone, Rimuru tries to use Resurrection, only to discover that the skill cannot bring her back. The reason is devastating. Hinata’s soul has disappeared, meaning the information required to restore her no longer exists. For Rimuru and the others, it is no longer simply a matter of healing a fallen ally. Something far more final has happened.
Granville coldly declares that everything has gone according to his plan. Luminus is overwhelmed by rage, and the emotional shock causes her unique skill Lust to evolve into the ultimate skill Asmodeus. But even gaining an ultimate skill does not comfort her. She is furious because the new power arrived when it could not prevent Hinata’s death or Chloe’s disappearance.
Luminus attacks Granville with everything she has, determined to make him pay. Before the confrontation can reach its conclusion, Diablo and the others return, with Rimuru relieved to see that his strongest allies have arrived in time to protect everyone else. Then the true mastermind steps forward.
Yuuki Kagurazaka appears before Luminus, revealing that he was the one who broke into the Holy Ark. Luminus immediately questions how he could have undone the seal created by holy spirit power. Yuuki explains that he discovered the secret Luminus had been hiding: the treasure inside the Holy Ark was connected to the very Hero who sealed Veldora. The mysterious figure is named Chronoa.
Yuuki reveals that Granville used him because he could not break the Holy Ark’s seal himself. Now that Chronoa has been freed, the consequences are immediate. Luminus explains that Chronoa is both a Hero and something beyond a normal Hero. In her current state, she is an avatar of destruction.
Granville’s entire plan finally becomes clear. The battles involving Rimuru, Leon, Hinata, Luminus, Footman, Tear, and Maria were all pieces of a much larger scheme designed to create the exact conditions needed to free Chronoa. And once Chronoa awakens, Granville believes she cannot be defeated.
The episode ends with the newly awakened threat declaring her hatred for the Demon Lords and promising to destroy them all. After the apparent death of Hinata and the mysterious disappearance of Chloe, Rimuru and his allies now face a catastrophe even greater than Granville himself. Episode 19 closes on a brutal cliffhanger: Chronoa has been unleashed, and the next battle may force the truth about the Hero, Chloe, and the past to finally come to light.
