The episode 1 of THUNDER 3 starts with a peaceful morning inside Pyontaro's home as the television plays a weather report and daily horoscope while the family prepares breakfast. Doc explains that the disc is designed to run on a TS5 console, and Pyontaro immediately offers to let him borrow his system so they can finally see whether the strange purchase actually works.
Before heading home, the boys stop to watch the same street musician performing once again. She finishes her song while one of the boys compliments her performance, only for another to ruin the moment with another inappropriate joke. The brief stop provides one last slice of normal daily life before everything begins changing.
Back at home, Futaba once again proves how closely she watches her brother by appearing almost immediately after he arrives. Their mother notices this as well and jokingly wonders whether Futaba has some kind of special instinct. Before leaving to run errands, she asks Pyontaro to keep an eye on his little sister until she returns.
Soon afterward, a delivery package arrives at the house. Pyontaro initially assumes it contains the newest issue of Jumpy, but instead discovers an adult DVD inside the package. Shocked by what they find, the boys quickly decide they should avoid watching it and instead focus on testing the mysterious disc that Doc had been talking about.
They insert the strange disc into the TS5 console. At first, everything appears completely normal. The system boots up with stunning visuals, leaving everyone impressed by the graphics. However, something immediately feels wrong. None of the controller buttons respond, making it impossible to interact with whatever has appeared on the screen.
Just then, another knock at the door interrupts them. Believing another package has arrived, they briefly leave the television alone. When they return, they are greeted by an unbelievable sight. Unfortunately, the reunion lasts only seconds before the military launches its attack against the enormous creature they believe threatens their world.
