The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World Episode 2 Recap: Rin's First Meal Changes Glutton's Table Forever
Rin's life in another world takes a dramatic turn as one delicious meal earns her a place among elite adventurers, while mysterious events surrounding the Saintess Summoning begin raising even bigger questions.

The episode 2 of The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World starts with Ville and the members of Glutton's Table finishing their battle against the Fire Bear that attacked a party of rookie adventurers. Although the monster looked threatening, it quickly becomes clear that it is no match for the experienced team. Ed confidently blocks the enemy's attacks with his magic while Aria effortlessly catches their opponent off guard. Rather than worrying about the battle itself, Ed spends more time admiring Aria, proudly calling his wife amazing and joking that she keeps giving him reasons to fall in love with her all over again.

Once Aria creates an opening, Ville immediately lands the finishing blow and defeats the Fire Bear without any difficulty. The victory is so one-sided that Senon's healing support is barely needed during the fight. Even so, Ed becomes overly concerned after noticing a tiny scratch on Aria's skin and begs Senon to heal it before it could leave a scar. Aria laughs it off, explaining that she simply got the scratch while running through the forest, but Senon still uses healing magic to satisfy Ed's dramatic worries.

With the danger gone, the group discusses why such a dangerous monster appeared in a hunting area meant for beginners. They explain that they only happened to be nearby collecting simple materials when they discovered a party of novice adventurers under attack. After rescuing them, they let the inexperienced adventurers escape first before dealing with the Fire Bear themselves. Even though the monster was weaker than expected, everyone agrees that its appearance in a rookie hunting ground is unusual enough to report to the Adventurer's Guild.

The conversation soon shifts to Ville's unexpected return from Lake Real. Instead of explaining immediately, he calls for Rin, who has been hiding safely nearby during the battle. Now that everything is over, Rin finally steps forward and enthusiastically introduces herself to the group.

Still overwhelmed by everything she has witnessed, Rin excitedly praises Ville's strength and admits that this was the first real battle she has ever seen. Watching the Fire Bear use magic completely shocked her, making Ville's effortless victory seem even more incredible. She also compliments every member of Glutton's Table, amazed by how handsome and beautiful everyone looks regardless of whether they are human or elf. The fantasy world continues to leave her speechless.

Ville then introduces Rin properly, revealing that she is exactly the kind of companion the party has always wanted—a porter who can actually cook. The announcement instantly changes everyone's attitude. Instead of questioning her combat ability, they become far more interested in whether she can prepare proper meals.

Aria eagerly asks if Rin can grill meat and fish, while the others listen with growing anticipation. Rin shyly explains that she can do much more than simple grilling and knows several different cooking methods. Her answer is enough to convince the entire party that meeting her may be nothing short of a miracle.

Wanting everyone to judge her fairly, Rin suggests preparing a meal immediately so they can evaluate her cooking for themselves. After remembering the Phantom Bird meat Ville gave her earlier, she decides to make grilled skewers using ingredients stored inside her mysterious camper van.

As she prepares the meal, Rin carefully seasons the meat with soy sauce, sugar, cumin, and coriander before assembling each skewer one piece at a time. While she quietly works, she suddenly realizes something awkward. Every time she enters her camper van, the others only see her disappear into thin air before returning with cooking supplies. To them, her actions must look incredibly mysterious.

Rin briefly wonders if she should give the party permission to enter the vehicle through its settings, but Ville decides against it for now because he finds everyone's confused reactions amusing. Although Rin teases him for being surprisingly mischievous, she returns to grilling the skewers over the fire.

As the soy sauce begins caramelizing over the flames, a rich aroma fills the air. Rin privately hopes that a flavor Japanese people love will also be appreciated in this new world. The smell alone immediately captures everyone's attention. Even before taking a bite, the members of Glutton's Table are amazed by how naturally and confidently she handles every step of the cooking process, realizing they are witnessing real culinary skill rather than simple campfire cooking.

When Rin finally offers everyone a taste, their expectations are completely surpassed. The grilled Phantom Bird meat remains juicy instead of drying out, while its sweet and savory seasoning introduces flavors they have never experienced before. Each bite leaves them visibly impressed, and they struggle to believe such a delicious meal could be prepared within only a few minutes.

Rin feels relieved after seeing their enthusiastic reactions and happily continues grilling more skewers so everyone can eat their fill. Her first meal has already begun transforming the atmosphere within the party, replacing curiosity with genuine admiration.

Rin's successful debut earns her more than compliments. Aria becomes so emotional after tasting the meal that she suddenly hugs Rin and openly declares that she likes her. Caught completely off guard, Rin blushes as Aria thanks her for making such an unforgettable dish. Ed, despite looking slightly jealous that his wife is embracing someone else, honestly admits that Rin's cooking is outstanding. Senon also praises the grilled meat, calling it divine and asking Rin to keep surprising the party with more delicious meals. Encouraged by everyone's warm welcome, Rin promises to work hard from now on and happily accepts her role within Glutton's Table.

After everyone finishes eating, Ville announces that it is time to return to Elrage. Before leaving, Rin quietly updates the special settings of her mysterious camper van, granting Ed, Aria, and Senon permission to board. The moment the group steps inside and experiences the vehicle, their stunned expressions are exactly what Ville had hoped to see. During the ride, Rin once again promises to do her best, whether carrying luggage or preparing meals for everyone.

As the camper van speeds toward Elrage using several different forms of magic, the party is left speechless. They cannot identify a single magical element powering the vehicle because it appears to combine multiple kinds of magic at once. Even someone as experienced as Senon admits he has never encountered a skill remotely similar to it. Realizing just how extraordinary her ability is, Rin quietly concludes that revealing her skills to strangers would probably be a bad idea.

Their conversation naturally shifts toward the Saintess Summoning. Ville explains that he has already reported the incident to higher authorities because it could affect the entire nation. Rin is surprised to learn more about the country she now finds herself in.

Ville introduces Risfield as a peaceful island nation founded by people who rejected war and discrimination. Long ago, humans who respected elves, dwarves, orcs, and other races crossed the sea before eventually settling there alongside the indigenous Dragoul tribe.

Over the years, Risfield developed into a nation where different races coexist peacefully, making it welcoming even to visitors from another world. However, Ville also explains that although Risfield maintains friendly relations with many neighboring nations, it remains cautious toward countries that still believe in human supremacy. Since Elrage serves as the nation's only officially open port, he hopes information arriving from overseas may eventually reveal the truth behind the Saintess Summoning.

Rin's attention briefly drifts to something much simpler when she remembers that a port city should also have plenty of fresh seafood. Soon afterward, the camper van reaches the massive walls surrounding Elrage. Fascinated by the fantasy city standing before her, Rin eagerly follows Ville toward the Adventurer's Guild while the others head home to prepare a room for their newest companion. Before leaving, Aria repeatedly reminds Rin not to disappear anywhere else until she officially becomes part of the party, making it obvious that everyone already wants her around permanently.

Inside the guild, Rin is immediately captivated by Shira, the friendly kobold receptionist. After completing the necessary paperwork, Rin is officially registered as Glutton's Table's porter. She also discovers that anything she writes in Japanese automatically appears in the local language while remaining perfectly readable to her, another mysterious benefit of being summoned into this world.

Ville then introduces Rin to the guild master, Tori, who asks her to explain how she arrived in this world. Rin honestly reveals that another girl was summoned alongside her and immediately recognized as the Saintess, while she herself was dismissed as useless and abandoned. Although Tori believes her story, he requests permission to perform an appraisal to confirm her job class and abilities. The results reveal that Rin possesses the rare Foreigner job, along with the Traveler job and her unique Camper Van skill. According to Tori, people from another world are said to receive powerful abilities, although reliable historical records are scarce because such stories have survived mostly as old legends.

The discussion soon returns to the strange appearance of the weakened Fire Bear. While nobody can yet prove any connection between that incident and the Saintess Summoning, Tori believes the unusual circumstances deserve closer attention. As a result, he formally requests that Glutton's Table strengthen patrols around Elrage while continuing their normal adventurer work. Ville immediately accepts the assignment, and Rin realizes she has joined one of the guild's most trusted parties.

Later, Rin arrives at the large villa serving as Glutton's Table's home. Although she learns it was rented cheaply because of mysterious deaths that gave it a haunted reputation, the others casually dismiss the rumors. Senon even jokes that, as a priest, ghosts would not bother him. Instead of worrying, Rin becomes excited after hearing that the spacious backyard will give her plenty of opportunities to use her unique skills.

That evening, she prepares her first proper dinner for everyone. Using Almiraj meat, Tiratake mushrooms gathered earlier, Phantom Bird eggs, ginger, onions, soy sauce, sake, sugar, mirin, and wild parsley, she carefully cooks a complete meal featuring a seasoned rice dish, tamagoyaki, and ginger-grilled meat. Every step showcases techniques the party has never seen before, from marinating ingredients to balancing flavors with herbs and seasonings.

When the dishes finally reach the table, nobody speaks at first. Instead, they stare silently, overwhelmed by the sight of a real home-cooked meal. The first bite completely exceeds every expectation. The rice is packed with flavor, the mushrooms perfectly absorb the sauce, the tamagoyaki stays soft and fluffy, and the ginger-grilled Almiraj remains incredibly tender instead of becoming tough like usual. Before long, everyone excitedly competes for extra servings of meat and rice until Rin gently reminds them there is enough food for everyone and encourages them to slow down and enjoy the meal together.

The episode ends with Rin watching the members of Glutton's Table happily savor the dinner she prepared with care, confirming that her cooking has already earned her an irreplaceable place within the party while their first peaceful evening together closes on a heartwarming note before teasing a seaside seafood adventure in the next episode.

Episode Verdict

Episode 2 does an excellent job of slowing the pace after Rin's arrival and focusing on the chemistry between the characters. Rather than relying on action, the episode builds its strongest moments through food, humor, and heartfelt interactions. Rin quickly proves that her value goes far beyond combat, while Glutton's Table feels more like a welcoming family with every scene. The mystery surrounding the Saintess Summoning and the unusual Fire Bear quietly adds intrigue in the background, balancing the lighthearted cooking sequences with enough suspense to keep viewers invested in what comes next.
