The episode starts with a woman receiving a series of unsettling phone calls from someone identifying herself as Mary-san. Each call reveals Mary's location, beginning outside the building before moving closer and closer. Eventually, Mary announces that she is standing directly behind her terrified target. Panic quickly takes over as the mysterious spirit finally appears in person.
Just as the victim seems completely cornered, Kamui arrives and confidently declares that Mary's game is over. He identifies Mary-san as an evil spirit that manipulates victims through phone calls before dragging them into the afterlife. Without hesitation, he announces that he is there to exorcise her.
The story then explains Kamui's unusual philosophy toward supernatural beings. According to the narration, evil spirits associated with death fear acts that symbolize the creation of life. Kamui has transformed this ancient belief into his own modern exorcism technique, which he proudly refers to as the Sacred Act. Mary initially tries to continue her haunting routine, but Kamui immediately turns the tables, leaving the spirit overwhelmed before finally disappearing.
Following the successful exorcism, Kamui receives payment from the client, who expresses relief that people will no longer vanish from the company building. Kamui's assistant handles the conversation while secretly struggling to explain what kind of person her boss really is. She cannot bring herself to admit that Kamui is less of a traditional psychic and more of a man completely obsessed with supernatural beings. Instead, she awkwardly claims that he is simply exhausted after performing the exorcism.
After leaving the job site, the assistant complains that Kamui always waits until the last possible second before stepping in to save her. Kamui casually explains that experienced supernatural creatures are more likely to escape if he appears too early, making perfect timing essential for capturing them.
To celebrate another completed job, Kamui offers to buy his assistant a sweet dessert. However, what begins as a relaxing break quickly turns into another case. Kamui starts telling her the famous urban legend of Teketeke, describing a schoolgirl who was struck by a train during winter. According to the story, her body was split in half, and while the upper half survived briefly because of the freezing weather, her lower body was never recovered.
The assistant listens with growing discomfort until Kamui calmly reveals the most important part of the legend. Now that she has heard the story, Teketeke will supposedly appear before her within three days. Furious, she realizes that Kamui intentionally involved her in another supernatural encounter without warning.
Three days later, her fears become reality. Teketeke appears exactly as the legend promised, forcing the assistant to flee in terror. During the chase, the story shifts to her perspective as she introduces herself as Shizuka Mimizuka. She explains that she has spent her entire life looking down while walking because making eye contact with supernatural beings would only invite more danger. Shrines, temples, and churches were unable to help her, leaving her isolated and constantly frightened.
Everything changed when she encountered Kamui. Ironically, she found him even scarier than the ghosts surrounding her. Nevertheless, Kamui recognized two valuable qualities: her incredible speed while escaping danger and her remarkable ability to attract supernatural entities. Those talents eventually earned her the position of his assistant, even if that mostly means serving as bait during dangerous investigations.
Back in the present, Shizuka barely manages to keep ahead of Teketeke before Kamui finally intervenes. He immediately analyzes the spirit's movements, explaining that Teketeke can travel at incredible speed but struggles to stop or change direction quickly. Taking advantage of this weakness, Kamui successfully traps the spirit.
Shizuka immediately realizes another problem. Kamui's usual exorcism method depends on a victim possessing a lower body, something Teketeke obviously lacks. She assumes her boss has finally encountered an enemy his technique cannot defeat.
Kamui, however, has already found another solution. Instead of abandoning his strategy, he focuses on one of Teketeke's ears. Shizuka watches in complete disbelief as Kamui uses the spirit's ear rather than any other part of her body. Reading his assistant's thoughts almost perfectly, Kamui calmly explains that ears and reproductive organs share a close relationship, allowing him to trigger a completely different reaction.
The narration then introduces the concept of phantom pain, where people continue feeling sensations in body parts they have already lost. Kamui cleverly applies that same principle to pleasure, creating what he confidently calls phantom ecstasy. Although Teketeke no longer possesses her missing lower half, she still experiences overwhelming sensations connected to it.
As the exorcism reaches its climax, Teketeke joyfully declares that she has finally found her missing lower body. With that emotional release, the tragic spirit peacefully disappears.
Afterward, Kamui explains that one version of Teketeke's legend says she endlessly searches for her missing lower half. Helping her believe she had finally recovered it became the key to freeing her from her endless suffering.
Shizuka reflects on how ridiculous and embarrassing her job often feels. Even though Kamui constantly drags her into terrifying situations, she realizes she no longer spends every day staring at the ground in fear as she once did.
Before the day can end peacefully, Kamui casually introduces another urban legend involving a girl named Kashima, who is also missing parts of her body and attacks her victims by tearing away the same body parts they still possess. Horrified, Shizuka suddenly realizes she has once again become part of another curse simply by listening.
The episode ends with Kamui cheerfully informing his frustrated assistant that Kashima will appear before her within three days as his "goodbye present." Shizuka can only shout in exasperation, calling her boss a complete jerk as another supernatural nightmare is set into motion.
