Clevatess Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: Alicia Uncovers a Dangerous Secret as the Hero Legend Takes Shape

Clevatess Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: Alicia Uncovers a Dangerous Secret as the Hero Legend Takes Shape

A strange transformation, hidden agendas, and an ancient legend begin to connect in Clevatess Season 2 Episode 3, as Alicia gets closer to discovering what the mysterious academy is really hiding.

The episode starts with a mysterious flashback set around a thousand years ago, where Clevatess awakens in a lifeless wasteland and wonders why everything has changed. Looking around, he questions where his enemies have gone, only to be told that the conflict is already over. A figure identifying himself as Zavthier, the Lord of Dark Beasts of the West, introduces himself before the story shifts back to the present day.

Back at the academy, Alicia tries once again to speak with Klen, but her chance disappears when other students immediately take him away after class. She reflects that the trip to and from school is the only time she can secretly communicate with him through dark ichor, and even then, he chooses whether to answer. Watching him casually interact with humans only deepens her curiosity about what he is really trying to accomplish.

Determined to uncover the truth herself, Alicia begins paying closer attention to the atmosphere around the academy. Rumors spread that Nathan has collapsed and may even be forced to leave school, yet the students react with surprising indifference. Instead of treating the incident as shocking, they behave as though dangerous accidents are simply part of studying magic in this place.

When Alicia tries asking questions about Nathan, she quickly becomes the target of suspicious gossip herself. Other students whisper that she spent time with Nathan and the twins, causing them to lump her together with a group they openly dislike. Rather than receiving answers, she finds herself isolated, making it clear that nobody wants to discuss what really happened.

Her search takes an unexpected turn when Leon and Tygel approach her in private. They reveal that Nathan is leaving the academy that very day and explain how dangerous magical research can be. Even so, they insist that mastering magic is worth every risk because successful graduates can immediately become ranking military officers in this kingdom.

The pair openly admits they came to the academy for ambition rather than friendship. They dream of reaching the highest level of magic and becoming strong enough to settle a score with someone from their past. Believing Alicia has her own hidden mission, they point out that nobody without exceptional ability could fight a dark beast using nothing but physical strength.

Instead of dancing around the subject, Leon and Tygel suggest working together. They assume Alicia is searching for Drel's secret room and wants to recover hidden magical knowledge, while they are determined to obtain a Crest by any means necessary. Alicia carefully questions what they can actually contribute before deciding whether the partnership is worth accepting.

The twins promise to gather information through methods Alicia cannot easily use herself, while expecting her to share anything important she discovers in return. They make no attempt to pretend complete trust exists between them, openly admitting that each side is simply using the other. Surprisingly, that honesty convinces Alicia to accept the temporary alliance under her own conditions.

Elsewhere, members of the Church discuss Nathan's condition with little emotion. Although they acknowledge it is unfortunate that a promising young man has effectively lost his future, they ultimately accept the outcome as part of God's will. Their calm acceptance mirrors the academy's overall attitude, reinforcing that these tragedies are treated almost as unavoidable consequences of pursuing magic.

Still frustrated by everyone's silence, Alicia resumes her investigation alone. She considers asking one of the teachers but worries about exposing her true identity. While exploring the academy grounds, she notices the ancient stone structures surrounding the school and remembers hearing that the entire campus was built upon ancient ruins, making her wonder if the academy itself is hiding something far older than anyone realizes.

Her thoughts are suddenly interrupted when she feels as though she has been stabbed from behind, leaving her completely startled. Moments later she meets a professor and dramatically claims she is being bullied because nobody will answer her questions. Although the professor immediately suspects she is exaggerating, Alicia uses the opportunity to bring up Nathan, Crests, dark beasts, and even jokingly mentions Drel's secret room before admitting she is only pretending to be an ordinary student interested in magic.

Instead of exposing her, the professor admits he already knows Alicia is connected to Hiden and understands she was sent to the academy as part of a larger mission. Alicia then explains her fear that the Emperor intends to seize the academy's hidden secrets by sending an army onto holy ground once someone else discovers them first. Believing such an invasion would inevitably turn the academy into a battlefield where innocent students could die, she proposes a different solution that could prevent war before it begins.

Alicia suggests that the academy's secrets should be found and destroyed before any army can claim them as an excuse for invasion. In return, she asks the professor to report the discovery to the Emperor only after she has had the chance to protect the students caught in the middle. Although he accuses her of practically blackmailing him, the two reluctantly reach an uneasy understanding while he grows increasingly curious about why she now appears as such a small member of Hiden.

The story then shifts to Eslinn, where the kingdom's leadership discusses the growing political situation surrounding the holy grounds. Rather than acting immediately, they decide patience is the wiser option until they have enough proof to justify intervention. Even so, the king eventually orders Sword Saint Owen Koath to lead five hundred soldiers toward Hiden and capture Luna Mountain while its master is away, revealing that preparations for conflict are already underway.

Meanwhile, life in Hiden offers a completely different scene as young Luna amazes everyone around him. Not only has he learned to read, but he effortlessly demonstrates remarkable magical talent by making objects float. The adults watching him are stunned, and they even notice that his name has mysteriously appeared upon the royal throne before his official naming ceremony, leading them to believe Klen's influence is responsible for the extraordinary event.

Back at the academy, Alicia presses the professor for answers about obtaining a Crest. He admits that even those who receive one lose their memories surrounding the experience, leaving only fragments behind. According to everything he knows, selected individuals first receive a divine revelation that guides them toward a mysterious trial, a process he compares directly to the famous Hero Legend and its tale of the Village of Origin.

Elsewhere, Sarasa and Edison realize someone has been secretly following them for two straight days. Using clever shadow techniques, they create decoys before confronting each other in private, where Sarasa reveals her true identity as the Orggite Shamaness Godspeaker and the future queen of her people. She then performs a ritual to manifest Zavthier, the Lord of Dark Beasts of the West, proving that her connection reaches far beyond ordinary magic.

Zavthier quickly recognizes Clevatess despite his much smaller form, while another hidden presence is exposed as Rathwell, the Lord of Dark Beasts of the East. After brief introductions, the conversation turns serious as Zavthier explains that Vordin, the Lord of Dark Beasts of the North, has apparently joined forces with humans and even possesses a dark ichor avatar within the academy. The revelation immediately gives the gathering a common enemy to investigate.

As the discussion continues, Clevatess admits he knows surprisingly little about the Hero Legend itself. Zavthier responds by recounting its major chapters, beginning with a hero awakening upon a stone altar before receiving divine guidance in the Village of Origin. The legend continues through a sacred forge where a Regalia is created, followed by battles against dark beasts and, finally, the defeat of the four Dark Beast Lords before humanity is guided beyond the membrane.

After finishing the summary, Zavthier points out an important detail that catches everyone's attention. The well-known version of the Hero Legend never explicitly mentions magic, even though other legendary locations, such as Hiden's forge, undeniably exist in reality. That observation leads Clevatess to suspect each chapter may once have had its own companion book, much like the Book of Toah that Klen previously discovered.

Thinking through the pieces one by one, Clevatess begins connecting Drel's obsession with hidden books instead of famous locations. If another volume truly belongs to the chapter about the Village of Origin, then its contents could explain divine revelations, mysterious trials, and perhaps even the method behind obtaining a Crest. As the theory comes together, Clevatess suddenly realizes he may finally understand what Drel's secret room is actually hiding.

The episode ends with Alicia desperately trying to reconnect with Klen after he cuts off their communication, only for her attention to be drawn toward the academy's third-ranked student. Nearby, she notices an unusual snail whose sticky surface reflects her own image. The strange sight immediately makes her uneasy, and before she can understand what is happening, she senses that something is terribly wrong, closing the episode on an unsettling cliffhanger.

Clevatess Season 2 Episode 3 slows the action down in favor of mystery, world-building, and political intrigue, but it keeps the story engaging by constantly introducing new pieces of the larger puzzle. Alicia shines as the driving force behind the investigation, while the meeting between multiple Dark Beast Lords adds major weight to the episode. The expanding Hero Legend and the final eerie cliffhanger leave plenty of questions unanswered, making this a rewarding episode that steadily builds anticipation for what's coming next.
