Clevatess Season 2 Episode 1 Recap: The Divine Academy, Dorel's Secret Lab, and Ray's Incredible Magic

Clevatess Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

A fragile peace between rival kingdoms quickly turns into a dangerous race for forbidden knowledge. As political negotiations end, every road leads to Solsein Academy, where hidden experiments, powerful students, and ancient magic are about to reshape the future.

The episode 1 of Clevatess Season 2 starts with a mysterious scene in which someone awakens before an enormous black tower while hearing a voice promising that everything they desire lies inside. The unsettling introduction immediately hints that this strange structure will become one of the biggest mysteries of the new season before the story shifts back to the aftermath of the previous war.

With the kingdom finally recovering, the surviving heroes receive rewards for their achievements. Clen fulfills his wish by becoming the royal magic instructor, allowing him to continue researching magic while serving the crown. Neruru is officially appointed as Luna's caretaker, ensuring the young child remains protected. Alicia chooses a different path, accepting the responsibility of guarding Queen Mother Toara during an upcoming diplomatic summit involving three powerful nations.

The focus then moves to the historic Bridge of the Ancients, the only surviving crossing between the kingdoms of Eslinn and Boelate after centuries of warfare destroyed every other bridge. This legendary location has become neutral ground where rulers gather to negotiate peace instead of continuing endless bloodshed.

Representatives from Haiden, Eslinn, and Boelate finally meet face-to-face. However, the peaceful atmosphere quickly becomes tense when Emperor Beis introduces his personal bodyguard, the infamous Hero-Slayer Jazhak. The dangerous warrior immediately recognizes Owen's legendary sword and even identifies Alicia as the hero responsible for destroying his bandit organization, making it clear that violence could erupt at any moment.

Instead of discussing territory or revenge, King Yuriel surprises everyone by focusing on Dorel's forbidden magical research. During the investigation following the previous conflict, horrifying evidence revealed that Dorel had been conducting cruel experiments on kidnapped human infants and even young demons. The revelation shocks everyone, especially because Luna herself narrowly escaped becoming one of his test subjects.

The discussion raises even bigger questions. Why would the demon Vordin encourage research that could strengthen humanity? Was the Royal Furnace connected to his larger objective? Although nobody has definitive answers, everyone agrees that Dorel's research contains secrets capable of changing the balance of power forever.

Rather than demanding money or land, King Yuriel proposes an unusual agreement. In exchange for two years of peace, Boelate must reveal the location of Dorel's laboratory and allow other nations to investigate it. Emperor Beis accepts under one important condition. Everyone may enter legally through the academy, but nobody is allowed to harm the people already living there. If they fail to discover the hidden laboratory within two years, the entrance will be sealed forever.

The greatest surprise arrives when Beis reveals the location of Dorel's research. Instead of hiding beneath a fortress or military base, it lies somewhere inside Solsein, the oldest and most prestigious Divine Academy in the world. What appears to be an ordinary school may actually conceal one of history's darkest secrets.

The story then shifts to Solsein itself as students from many different nations arrive for the academy's first international enrollment. Political rivals who once stood on opposite sides of the battlefield are now expected to study together, creating an uneasy atmosphere from the very beginning.

Clen secretly infiltrates the academy under his new identity as a teacher. Meanwhile, Alicia reluctantly joins the undercover mission after Clen literally shrinks her body using newly developed magic so she can better blend into academy life. Although she complains endlessly about the embarrassing transformation, Clen insists it is necessary for their investigation.

Before classes even begin, the academy introduces several important new students. Edison arrives from the eastern nation of Surada despite his homeland's strict restrictions on magic. Sarasa represents the western jungle kingdom of Orgg, while the arrogant twin nobles Tygel and Leon immediately begin insulting everyone around them, boasting that Eslinn's magical education is vastly superior.

Their constant arrogance eventually attracts the attention of another newcomer, Ray Forester. Unlike everyone else, Ray refuses to be intimidated by noble status. After the twins deliberately provoke him, he calmly accepts their challenge, setting the stage for the academy's very first duel.

Elsewhere, Boelate secretly launches its own investigation. Naie Shifonlitz, one of Dorel's surviving followers, is questioned about the hidden laboratory. His fragmented memories describe endless corridors, disturbing cries, mysterious experiments, and a gigantic spiral pit deep within the underground complex. Although he cannot remember the exact location, one forgotten memory involving a strange mirror convinces his superiors that Solsein truly hides something extraordinary.

Naie is then assigned an undercover mission of his own. Ironically, while Clen infiltrates the academy from Haiden's side, Naie also enters Solsein disguised as a teacher. Without realizing it, multiple factions are now searching for the exact same secret while pretending to educate students.

Princess Milea worries that opening the academy to foreigners could transform the school into another battlefield, but Cardinal Romain reassures her that Solsein will remain protected. Even so, the growing political tension suggests conflict is inevitable.

Outside, Ray's duel with the Blouyer twins finally begins. The brothers unleash traditional Quickened Magic, creating a massive Mirror Storm that surrounds Ray with countless magical reflections. Confident in their superiority, they believe victory is guaranteed.

Ray responds with a completely different magical system known as runic symbol incantations. Instead of overwhelming force, he carefully combines acceleration magic with atmospheric manipulation, summoning localized rain clouds that completely disrupt the twins' technique. Moments later, dark storm clouds gather overhead as lightning begins forming above the battlefield.

Ray explains that his runic magic is a far more advanced discipline than conventional Crystal Magic and may even resemble the long-lost ancient art known as Toah's Magic. His overwhelming mastery shocks everyone watching, including the mysterious observers secretly evaluating his potential.

Before the devastating lightning can strike, academy teachers intervene and stop the battle. Ray and the twins are escorted to the faculty office for violating school rules, while the remaining students hurry to class after witnessing an unforgettable demonstration of true magical talent.

The episode closes by confirming that Solsein is far more than an ordinary academy. Beneath its classrooms lies Dorel's hidden laboratory, multiple undercover agents have already infiltrated the school, and gifted students like Ray may unknowingly become the key to uncovering the greatest secret in the world of Clevatess. The season premiere successfully shifts the story from open warfare to a tense academy mystery where politics, ancient magic, and hidden conspiracies are destined to collide.
